Odd spell of Wethur

Ok, ok I'm reduced to talking about the weather.... in the last week or so:

• Friday - so warm (61*f) that my mate Fergal and I managed to play some golf.
• Saturday/Sunday - ice storm (20*).
• Monday incessant rain turned my rear garden into a lake.
• Tuesday storm force winds (50mph +)
• Thursday warm again (59*)

When I first came to the US in 98 I brought my large (parafoil) kite with me and it's never been windy enough to use it. Tuesday was the day but of course I was at work - never mind.

Here's a picture of us taken on Christmas Eve. We went down to the Florida Keys to catch up with some friends we hadn't seen for about 5 years.

Dave & Sam's kids are just a little older than ours so they got on famously.

Living away from "home" is a mixed blessing in this respect. It's naturally harder to see friends and family but when we do manage to get together - these encounters are great fun as it's all quality time.

Of course, this happens much less frequently than I'd like and there's a bunch of people that I'll hopefully get to see, sooner rather than later.

2006 is going to be an interesting year I think but I'm not going to reveal all my predictions now in case I'm way off the mark. So, you'll have to come back regularly to see what's going on.

I've got no idea whether anyone reads this drivel but it's theraputic in a strange way so, blog on.....
